Coffee grounds are the result of brewing coffee, and are the final product after preparation of coffee. They are generally regarded as waste and are thrown away by most of the people. However, there are many ways through which you can put the coffee grounds into use instead of tossing them in the compost.
Keep a Fireplace clean
Not many of you are aware that the grounds can help you in keeping your fireplace clean. All you need to do is to sprinkle the fireplace with wet grounds before you clean the ashes out of it. They’ll be easier to remove, and the ash and dust won’t pollute the atmosphere of the room.
Deodorize a Freezer
Coffee grounds can help you get rid of the pungent smell from your freezer. Sometimes there are situations when the freezer fails and the smell of spoiled food fills the area. To get rid of this, just fill a couple of bowls with used or fresh coffee grounds and place them in the freezer overnight. This will give you a pleasant coffee scent in the morning. Additionally, if you want a flavoured-coffee scent, you can add a couple of drops of vanilla or any other flavour to the grounds.

However, you no longer need to buy the fertilizers as your grounds can provide your acidic-loving plants with all the nutrients that they love. You can use grounds to fertilize plants including rose bushes, azaleas, rhododendrons, evergreens, and camellias. Also, It’s better to use grounds from a drip coffeemaker than the boiled grounds from a percolator as the drip grounds are relatively richer in nitrogen.
