5 Practical Ways to Be Happy

A few days back, I read a quote “We are just an unhappy generation with happy pictures on social media”. And, this hit me hard because I can relate so much to it.

We’ve been so busy in our lives — academics, making money, becoming influencers, and whatnot, that we’ve forgotten how to be happy.

So, below are a few ways we can get joy in our lives by doing little things:

  1. Smile often

You’re who you believe. If you think and stay upset, you’re going to be upset. If you feel happy and smile often, you’re going to become happy.

2. Be grateful

Don’t we all question “why me?” whenever something bad happens to us? But do we do the same when something positive happens? No, right? Start counting your blessings and that’s how you’ll be happy.

3. Expect the least

Expectations are natural. But they hurt. Expecting someone to do something for you might only dishearten you. So, expect least and rather do things on your own.

4. Treat yourself often

Won a race? Treat yourself. Scored high in exams? Treat yourself. Life is short. Don’t wait for occasions. Instead, create your own.

5. Have a few close friends

Try to befriend a few good people who are there for you when you need them, hang out with you. and make you feel happy.
