5 Practical Ways To Manage Your Time Effectively

Time management is not easy for most people. It requires strategic actions, overcoming procrastination and being committed to the goals one set.

But, here are some practical tips that are based on my experience that would help you manage your time better and make more money:

 

1. DON’T MULTITASK

Multitasking or engaging in more than one task at a time can hamper your productivity and make you do less.

So, prefer focusing 100% on what you do, even if you do it for a short duration.

2. DIVIDE YOUR DAY

Create a list as follows:

  • Important and Urgent
  • Urgent but not important
  • Important but not urgent
  • Neither important nor urgent

Now start your day with things that are both urgent and important, and gradually move down the list. It would help you keep up with the deadlines and prevent you from wasting time on things that hardly matter.

3. USE POMODORO TECHNIQUE

Pomodoro technique is a popular time management technique that asks you to work for 25 mins, followed by a short break of 5 mins and after 4 such cycles, you get a 15 min break.

This improves your concentration and prevents you from getting distracted, which certainly saves a lot of your time.

4. DELEGATE WORK

This is SOOOO important. Don’t try to do everything on your own. Know your priorities and things that cannot go without you. Now start delegating the less important or rewarding work and focus on your core tasks.

5. DIVIDE THE WEEK

Doing everything every day doesn’t make sense. Of course, some things like eating, bathing etc, need to be done every day. But for instance, you’re a content creator and a freelancer, you have a lot to manage and working on all the projects every day would only make you less productive. Instead, fix some days of the week to do client’s work and some for content creation and more.

 

So, these were some ways you can save your time and be more productive.
