Mental health is one of the most neglected yet important factor to a healthy living. The fast moving and materialistic life has lead to depression among both teenagers and adults. Depression isn’t just a life full of sadness, it is way beyond it. It is a complete disruption and imbalance of hormones causing neurotic problems.
Following are 5 things you should practice to fight depression naturally:
1. Note down negatives
If you are depressed, there might be something that’s causing it. Whether it is overload of work or some family tensions, write it down somewhere to realise what makes you suffer.
2. Work on cause
Now that you exactly know what is causing you stress, you need to work on it to eliminate it. No matter what you do, if you don’t fight the cause, it’s not going to give you permanent relief. For example, if it is someone’s words that are constantly hurting you, look out if you should talk to the person about it or end up your relationship.

3. Yoga and meditation
Apart from working on the root cause, you should make yourself feel relaxed. For this, exercising and meditating can do wonders. Spend at least 40 minutes every morning in physical activities.
It is commonly seen that a person with depression is either likely to sleep too much or not sleep at all. Look out on your sleeping patterns, are you taking adequate sleep? You should fix a time and ideally sleep for 8 hours every night.
5. Seek help
If the above things don’t work and you find yourself occupied with negative or suicidal thought, don’t hesitate to seek help. Talk to your loved ones, whom you think might be able to help you with your problems. If nothing works out, seek help from counsellor or psychiatrist.
