After the WHO’s declaration of Coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic, The India’s Civil Aviation Ministry asked the domestic airlines to waive off the charges for rescheduling tickets. All the airlines agreed to wave-off the charges in case a flyer chooses to not travel on the scheduled date due to the pandemic.
Now all the major domestic airlines, including Air India, Spice-Jet, Vistara, AirAsia India and GoAir have waived-off the charges on cancellation as well as re-scheduling the travel.
On monday, Air India tweeted:
#FlyAI : In accordance with circular of DGCA, addition to Visa restrictions already in place, pax traveling from/having visited Italy or Republic of Korea & entering India will need certificate of having tested negative for COVID-19 from the labs authorized by these countries.
Tickets must be re-issued on or before 31st May, 2020. In case of re-routing, applicable difference of fare will be charged. Passengers are requested to contact our customer care number for further assistance.
AirAsia India too, has extended free rescheduling of tickets for all flyers till March 31. The travel can be rescheduled to any date, as per a tweet by the AirAsia.
For Vistara, cancellation charges do not apply for the bookings made on or before March 1.
Spice Jet too has waived off cancellation charges for the tickets booked for travel between March 12-31.
So now, if you do not desire to travel amid the outbreak, you can reschedule or cancel your tour as per the policy of the respective airline.
