Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez again made history as she won her Democratic primary from New York City’s 14th district. Considering the strong roots of the blue party in the area, she will most likely
be the representative of the district in the United States House Of Representatives.
The fight was never easy for her as her opponent was someone well connected. Knowing Ocasio-Cortez‘s history, big businesses, which are a major source of election revenue, aren’t very keen on funding her. In fact, they go an extra mile to ensure that she is not elected to power.

However, despite all the challenges, Cortez swept to a victory acquiring 72% of the vote in the primary. The Bronx native had a message for her cash-strapped opponent after her victory. As per her, the revolution is coming and there was nothing that anyone could do about the situation.

WHAT DID ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ SAY?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided to target her opponent’s rich backers. She didn’t hesitate in calling out big names, staying true to her reputation.
“Wall Street CEOs, from Goldman Sachs to Blackstone, poured in millions to defeat our grassroots campaign tonight,” Ocasio Cortez said. “But their money couldn’t buy a movement.”
“There is no price tag for having people who are animated by the courage of their convictions and by a desire for a better world,” she said. “You cannot purchase that.”

“Wall Street just decided to put in millions of dollars in dark money [at the] last minute in this race,” she added. If people hadn’t volunteered, organized, and phone-banked for her, she continued, it “might have meant something.”
AOC has been extremely good with her campaign. This will further serve in strengthening the progressive movement in the US. It will be a matter of great pride for everyone involved who has contributed generously for her ambitious campaign.
