The Coronavirus outbreak has raised concerns about protecting health. However, it has also lead to mis- information and rumours being circulated through WhatsApp and other social media platforms.
Many of these includes information about medicines, ways to prevent the virus from infecting. One such news that circulated was animals including dogs to be transmitting the virus.
As a result of which, many people have started abandoning their pets and the abandoning rate has been increasing since then.
Therefore, earlier this week, many celebrities brought it to their social media, that the news was a rumour and there hasn’t been any evidence found if the animals can transmit the same.
Let us have a look at what out bollywood celebrities shared;
Kriti Sanon posted a picture with her dog ans wrote: “Pets can’t carry or contain the Covid-19 virus! So stay calm, give them love and spend some time with your PAWsome munchkins! #SpreadLove #StayPositive,”
Twinkle Khanna also posted a picture with her dog and wrote: “There is no evidence that dogs and cats pass on Covid-19! Because of misleading posters and dubious sources of information, people are abandoning their pets! A cuddle a day keeps the doctor and the vet away, so do cuddle away #Dogperson.”
While, Sonali Bendre too posted a picture with her dog and wrote:
“There is a lot of misinformation and miscommunication out there about the spread of #coronavirus through animals and pets. What’s happening because of this is heartbreaking. Health experts maintain there has been no evidence to suggest that pets can spread the infection”
It’s time when we should refrain ourselves from believing or sharing rumours and rather spend time with our loved ones including pets.
