Two weeks back, Google had announced about their cut-off date for the 100 GB of free Google Drive Storage provided for all the Chromebook users.
This announcement was made officially on the Google Chromebook offers page. Although it was said that the cut-off date was on the 15th of August, 2018, the ‘Redeem’ still seems to be available.
Yes, we could be considered as late in coming out with this news, yet you could be very much lucky. And well, there’s no harm now in trying either.
What exactly is this 100 GB Drive storage space option given for Chromebook users –
As mentioned by xda developers, “Google likes to include a few perks with their devices when you buy them. For instance, purchasing a Google Pixel device will give you unlimited full resolution photo backup – forever.”
Much the same way, Google offers many more cool offers. One such example is the 100 GB of Free Google Drive Storage space. Also, this is said to last for two complete years. But the only depressing part is the fact that you will have to manually claim from the link given below –
Get 100 GB of Google Drive storage for two years.
How to redeem this offer?
As mentioned earlier, all you have to do is go to their website by clicking the link provided above from our Chromebook. This can be done by any Chromebook user.
Now you would have to verify that you indeed are the owner of a Chromebook device. If not, there would be a pop-up dialogue box that asks the permission to check if your device is indeed a Chromebook.
Now finally you can have access to your extra storage in your Drive account. The storage lasts for two years, so be mindful of the fact that when it expires you won’t be able to use your Google Drive to the full extent anymore – if you’ve exceeded whatever limit you have after that. The only way to utilize your Google Drive then will be to delete files or purchase an add-on instead.

Only Chromebook or can any other Android device?
Is it just the Chromebook provided by Google that would gain access to this free storage space? Or could other android devices use the feature?
Well, the answer to this question is quite obvious. Only the Chromebook users could use this feature and not anyone else. If you do click on it from your PC, laptop or mobile phones, you would get a dialogue that says the following.
It is quite unaware as to if and when Google would officially reintroduce this voucher. But till then make the most out of what you have.
