Hailee Steinfeld’s new song ‘Wrong Direction’ hints at ex-boyfriend Niall Horan, say fans

Hailee Steinfeld with Ex Bf, Niall Horon.

Hailee Steinfeld released her new single”Wrong direction” on YouTube , this New Year’s Eve. Fans think of it as a heartbroken song for her ex boyfriend Niall Horan, a band member of one direction.

The lyrics of the heartfelt song say, ‘I don’t hate you No, I couldn’t if I wanted to I just hate all the hurt ‘that’ you put me ‘through’.

Some fans say that the lyrics give a hint of Hailee being cheated by Niall in her past relationship, as she sings:
“Couldn’t even see you through the smoke, looking back I probably should have known, but I just wanted to believe you were out sleeping alone.”
The lyrics hint towards Hailee being hurted and cheated.

Also talking about Niall’s ego, she sings:
“On my tiptoes
But i still couldn’t reach your ego….you even convinced yourself.
And calling his love, of “wrong intentions”.

Steinfeld revealed via Twitter on Sunday that she’d be releasing the song, giving fans a sneak peek at the telling name.

“niall horan fucking cheated on hailee my life is a lie”. A Twitter user responded.

However, there’s no confirmation if the song is for her ex boyfriend, Niall. But, the fans are reading into it big-time.

Hailee (23) and Niall(26) dated for about a year and broke up in December 2018.

Weeks before Hailee Steinfeld’s Wrong Direction, ex-boyfriend Niall Horan dropped his new song “Put A Little Love On Me”.

Fans also thought that Niall’s “Put A Little Love On Me” was for his ex-girlfriend. The “Nice To Meet Ya” singer also spoke about the song on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and described that everyone has different sides to a breakup.
