Healthy Versions of your favourite Junk Food

We Zoomers or Gen Z kids are addicted to junk food like anything! Little do we realize its ill effects. Now that there has been a lot of awareness with respect to healthy eating, we find it really difficult to incorporate as our favourite food is mostly made out of refined wheat flour and oils which aren’t good for our health. So what do we do? Is there no better option that giving them up and not enjoying meals? Of course there is! What if the same delicious junk could be made out of healthy ingredients? That shouldn’t be amiss!

1. Sandwiches
So what you usually put in a sandwhich potato or veggies, yeah! That’s not really junk. What makes it junk is that wheat bread and mayonnaise and other flavouring agents like sauces. So better skip that and use a multigrain or at least a whole wheat bread and use home-made chutneys and a lot of greenies.

2. Fries
Fries are love! But the oil in which it is deep fried, makes it unhygienic and unhealthy. However, baking the same fries in oven gives you almost the same taste without compromising on your health. So, give it a try!

3. Momos
Life without momos! Is it even a life? Naah! Well, the filling of momos isn’t what is unhealthy. It is again the wheat flour making it one.
So, you can easily replace it with whole wheat flour. But in case you don’t like the taste, you can go foe semolina or suji.

4. Pizza
Nobody, literally nobody can resist a pizza. But the wheat flour on that pizza makes it equally unhealthy! To make it better, simply replace the pizza base with whole wheat bread or base and keep everything else the same.

5. Cake
Cakes are mostly made out of refined wheat flour and refined sugar which are both equally unhealthy. To make it a way that you don’t regret consuming, replace it with whole wheat flour and natural sources of sugar like jaggery paste or dates.
