WARNING: MAJOR Infinity War and Endgame spoilers ahead!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a fanbase large enough for it to constitute another world. Composed of more than a decade’s worth of movies, the MCU has proved to be one of the most holistic alternative universes.
It has given its audience witty heroes (hello, Thor from Thor: Ragnarok), villains that are actually heroes (still trying to cope with Loki’s death in Avengers: Infinity War), and iconic rivalries.
Marvel’s ginormous fanbase has also translated into major economic gains for the company, with regards to their box office earnings.

So, today we take a look at the highest-grossing Marvel movies of all time.
(Hint: They’re all Avengers movies!)
WHICH MOVIES ARE THE HIGHEST-GROSSING MARVEL MOVIES OF ALL TIME?
Released in 2012, The Avengers was one of the first movies of the MCU. It started the story of the Avengers, a group of superheroes selected to protect the earth from extra-terrestrial threats. In 2012, there were only 6 Avengers, which came to be known as the “original Avengers” by fans. They included Tony Stark, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.
This film’s total worldwide gross earnings were $1.51 billion. It also earned a total of $623 million domestically.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
Other than being the second highest-grossing Marvel movie, Infinity War is also the second highest-grossing superhero movie of all time. IW revolved around the Avengers’ struggle to stop Thanos, a multidimensional villain, from erasing 50% of all creatures in the Universe. Apart from the 6 members featured in the original movie, the Avengers group also includes Scarlet Witch, T’Challa, Rocket, Teen Groot, Gamora, Spiderman, Mantis, and many more.
Sadly, this is also the movie that Loki dies in, for real (or so we’ve been told), and that too right in the beginning!
Keeping our Loki’s death-related feelings aside, IW’s total worldwide gross earnings and total domestic gross earnings were $2.04 billion and $678 million, respectively.
To most MCU fans, this isn’t a surprise. Endgame was the grandest Marvel movie of all time. Arguably the saddest, Endgame made us say goodbye to one of the original members of the MCU, not even the Avengers – Tony Stark. A movie that converged all storylines, all struggles, and all adventures to fight one enemy – Thanos, and to bring back the billions of innocent lives taken away.
Before we start crying about Endgame (again), let’s get into its earnings.
Earning a gross total of $2.98 globally, Endgame didn’t just become the highest-grossing Marvel movie, it became the highest-grossing movie of ALL TIME.
These figures have been reported by TIME.
