Whether you’re feeling bad or good, there are plenty of ways to improve your appearance and make yourself feel nice. From exercise to haircuts, here are the ways:
First, ask yourself why you want to improve or change your appearance. Are you doing this for yourself or someone else is the reason? And most importantly, what are the changes you want to see. If you’re trying to change how you look with the hopes to attract someone, then you should stay true to yourself and do what feels right for you.
Identify what you like and what you don’t like about your appearance
Most of us don’t really know what we like and dislike about ourselves. At first, we need to find it in ourselves what we don’t like about ourselves, but it’s important to identify some good things as well. Once you figure out what you like best about yourself, you can change the things accordingly.
Be realistic about what you can and can’t change.
You might have made a list of what you like and don’t like, and then you will consider what you can actually change about yourself and what not. For example, you can’t change that if you are short or long. But if you are short and want to, you can give the illusion of looking taller to everyone by wearing high heels (women) or shoes with thicker heels (men or women).
Even there are other things available like you can experiment with your clothing and hair to help give the appearance of length (for example, if you’re short, you might want to avoid having very long hair or wearing long jackets that reach below the knees, as these things can make you look shorter) and if you follow these step you will look longer than your original height.
Learn to love your quirks.
Maybe you don’t love your look, but your appearance will only tell you how traditionally attractive you are. Try to move at least one thing from your “don’t like” list to your “like” list. Maybe you don’t like that your hair is so thick, but with the right hair cut, products, and styling, you might get what you like.
Be realistic and patient
To improve your appearance you need immense patient. Give yourself the time and space you need for the change. Know that this will be different for others’ goals and situations.
