Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature called lyrics stickers in Stories. This feature was spotted by Twitter user Jane Manchun Wang who demonstrated the feature in a short video. As the name suggests, the feature will display the lyrics of the songs featured in the Instagram story.
Instagram added music to its Stories feature back in the summer of 2018. It enabled users to add background music to their Stories. There were plenty of customization options made available. Then, in December, more options were added to the musical Stories including the ability to respond to questions with songs. This addition happened around the same time as the introduction of the question stickers for live videos and countdowns.
Recently, a bunch of new features were added to Instagram in the wake of Facebook’s annual developers’ conference F8. Instagram now enables users to shop for inspired looks from the creators they follow from within the app itself. Basically, users can click on a post which will show what the creator of the post was wearing and users will be able to buy the outfit right there and then, on the spot. As of now, Facebook had not disclosed in which regions will this feature be made available. They said that anyone in the global community will be able to shop from creators.
Additionally, users will now be able to raise money for non-profit causes. A donation sticker, usable in stories is available for this purpose. As of now, this feature is only available in the US but is poised to roll out to other countries soon.
