Keratosis Pilaris or chicken skin is a harmless skin condition in which tiny rough bumps that look like acne develop on the arms and sometimes, the legs. This condition is commonly found around 40% of adults. Even though there’s no definite cure for this condition, there are several ways to reduce it.
Tea tree and coconut oil
Tea tree oil is known for its skin purifying properties. It is also antibacterial and anti-inflammatory in nature. Take 2 drops of tea tree oil and 10 drops of coconut oil and mix them together. After this, apply the mix to the affected areas and massage gently. Repeat this procedure twice a day for visible effects and clearer skin.
Aloe Vera gel
Aloe Vera is the ultimate solution for skin problems. It moisturises the skin and makes it soft. Scoop out some fresh Aloe Vera gel from the aloe plant and apply on the bumps. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then massage the gel. It softens the bumps and visibly reduces them.
Apple Cider Vinegar mix
Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural exfoliant that removes not only the dead skin but also the extra keratin leaving the skin soft and smooth and the bumps to reduce. Mix 2 tablespoons each of Apple Cider Vinegar and coconut oil with 1 teaspoon of honey and apply to the bumps like a mask. Leave it on till it dries and then rinse it off. Repeat this procedure every day to reduce the bumps.

Baking soda not only has anti-inflammatory properties but also acts as an exfoliant to remove the excess keratin. Mix 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda with water and make a thick paste. Then, apply this paste on the affected area and massage for about 5 minutes and rinse with water after. Try this every day before taking a bath for smoother skin.
Oatmeal works wonders for dry and itchy skin. It moisturises the skin making it smooth. Take some oatmeal powder and mix it in the bath tub. Take the warm bath with oatmeal for about 15 minutes and then rinse the body with normal water and pat dry. Try this bath thrice a week to get a smoother and moisturised skin.
The condition is not entirely curable but can be toned down and visibly reduced by using simple methods at home.
