After him, their daughter Ki-jeong starts to work with the Parks’ son as an art therapist. At the same time, the father cons his way to becoming the chauffeur. Finally, the mother convinces the Parks that their housekeeper Moon-gwang has tuberculosis, and then herself secures the housekeeping gig. Things start to go sideways when Moon-gwang, the old housekeeper returns to the Park family home when they are on a camping trip.

Bong Joon-ho, the director, won the award for the Best Director. Quentin Tarantino (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Todd Phillips (Joker), and Martin Scorsese (The Irishman) were some of the nominees in the same category. “Parasite” also defeated Les Misérables, Corpus Christi, Honeyland, and Pain and Glory to win the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
