Apple has announced its next generation of iPhones, and one of them is by far the biggest iPhone yet. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, look almost identical to their predecessor. These phones are again available in Gold unlike last year. Indeed, the iPhone XS max is huge, the biggest there is at the moment. In addition to the iPhone XS and XS Max, Apple also announced a lower-cost model. The iPhone XR, splits the difference in size between the iPhone XS and XS Max. The launch of the more affordable iPhone XR is being postponed to mid-October. Preorders for the iPhone XR start on Friday, Oct. 19. The iPhone XR will start shipping a week later on by October 26.
The iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch LCD screen, an aluminum body in a rainbow of color choices. It has a single rear-facing camera unlike the other two but the same water resistance as last year’s models. The iPhone XS and XS Max each have a water resistance rating of IP68.The price for the iPhone XR will start at $749 for the 64GB model. However, it will move up to $849 to double the storage capacity to 128GB. If you want to max it out at 256GB of internal storage, the total price will be $899.
How to Pre-Order iPhone XR
If you want to receive the phone on launch day without standing hours in a queue, then preordering is the way to get yourself the new iPhone on launch day. Pre-approval for pre-ordering iPhone XR with Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program started on 15th October at 12 pm PT/3 pm. Apple recommends using the Apple Store app for going through the pre-approval process. You can preorder your phone at apple.com or in the Apple Store app on iOS devices. Using Apple’s preorder system, you can upgrade through your carrier. Choose your model, color and capacity, then select AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon. If you are looking to spend a little less on the latest iPhone hardware, you’ll have to wait until after the XS and XS Max enjoy their collective moment in the spotlight. Preorders for the XR begin on October 19th and launch day will be October 26th.

Pricing for Verizon’s 24-month installment plan starts at $41.66 a month for the iPhone XS and $46 a month for the iPhone XS Max. Both new and existing Verizon customers can get $100 or more for trading in select phones, which will be applied as bill credits over 24 months.
AT&T offers discounts on the iPhone XS and XS Max if you sign up for its 30-month installment plans. With it, the 64GB iPhone XS costs $33.34 a month and the XS Max costs $36.67 a month. With its 24-month plan, the iPhone XS costs $41.67 a month and the XS Max costs $45.84 a month.
T-Mobile offers 24-month installment plans for the Phone XS and XS Max but asks that you put some money down upfront. For example, the iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max costs $30 a month if you put down $280 or $380, respectively.
Sprint has a trade-in deal for the iPhone XS and XS Max if you sign up for its Sprint Flex 18-month lease plan and have an eligible phone to trade in. You can get the iPhone XS for $0 a month or the iPhone XS Max for $4.17 a month. You’ll need to activate a new line of service or be eligible for an upgrade to get the offer. And the deal doesn’t take effect until after two bill cycles. Keep in mind that at the end of 18 months, you’ll have to pay off the balance or return the phone.
