Tinder was initially launched 6 years back and it didn’t have much changes since then. But on the 5th of July, they had launched their new feature which is referred to as Tinder Loops.
This new video loop feature was initially being tested in the month of April among the iPhone users residing in Canada and Sweden.
What does this new Tinder feature do?
Tinder officially announced about the video loops feature on their blog post. The entire feature can be understood by Tinder’s own words –
“You get two seconds of looping video to show more personality, which is the best way to get more right swipes. You can be flirty, you can be fun, but no matter what, be you.”
Basically, Tinder allows the users to add GIFs instead of usual ordinary photos. It isn’t that big of a GIF. It would just be a simple two second looped video. These looped videos can surely turn out to be your biggest moment to find your perfect match.
These looped videos can show the true and fun side of the user. The users who added a Loop to their profile saw that their average conversation length went up by 20 %. The feature seems to be particularly effective in Japan, since June, with users receiving an average of 10 % more right swipes if they had a Loop in their profile.
It is also said that Tinder is testing another feature, which is to add 9 photos/looped videos rather than six.
What does Tinder have to say about it?
Brian Norgard, who is the Chief Product Officer of Tinder, said the following to the PC Magazine –
“With the addition of video, users have a new way to express themselves while also gaining key insights into the lives of potential matches.
Whether it’s dancing at a concert, doing cartwheels on the beach, or clinking glasses with friends, Loops makes profiles come alive. We anticipate Tinder Loops will lead to even more matches and conversations and look forward to seeing how our users creatively adopt the feature.”
Is Tinder Loops available to everyone?
Unfortunately no. This loop feature is only available to the iPhone users in the following countries –
Japan, United Kingdom, United States, France, Korea, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Kuwait, New Zealand, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.
Thus, with this new feature, Tinder has joined few other dating apps such as Bumble, Badoo, Hinge, etc. They have all added videos in their apps.
Hopefully Tinder brings this feature to the Android users soon. But for now, the iPhone users can enjoy the most out of their looped videos. So go ahead and find your perfect life/date partner.
